Self-Care Wheel
One of the first steps we can take towards healing is choosing to care for ourselves. Every single day we should do at least one healthy activity to improve our overall mental and physical state. The two work together, so if you decide to take a walk or hike, that will improve both your mental and physical health. The Self-Care Wheel is the perfect aid in helping to get started. One of the first things I did when my counselor shared the wheel with me was to watch a sunset on my way to a friends house. I just pulled over and took in a deep breath. I was running late, but I didn't care. I did what I needed at that moment for me and that was to stop and enjoy a moment of God's beautiful creation. I felt so much better after doing that and my friends did not even notice that I was late. So I suggest to you, even when you might be a little late, take a moment if you can and enjoy just being alive and all that God has done for you. The Self Care Wheel was a fantastic tool for me to get started and I hope it will help you too!
